1. Animoto -- extremely easy and fun, fun, fun!! Would use it immediately.
2. Blogs -- only used blogger, but also very easy to create, and has endless possibilities for writing and creativity. Love the widgets, I could do a whole class on just widgets!
3. Wikis -- super easy to use, lots of room for pages, flexible editing, involves many writers.
4. Flickr -- great visual learning, fabulous for appealing to some learners. Easy tie-in to fine arts subjects.
5. BigHugeLabs -- love how we can take a picture and make it into something like a poster or puzzle. Great for all ages, even elementary.
Side note on blogs: I created a blog for my son, age 8, in hopes that he would write more. He really hasn't, but he loves the idea of having his own blog, and I hope it will evolve over time. His teacher is creating a Writing Workshop to help him and other 3rd graders, and I offered to create a blog or wiki to support that effort. She loved the idea but needs approval from principal. If school has an appropriate IUA, why would approval be needed?

It seems like if she is nervous, she should check with the administrators just to be on the safe side. Hopefully you have given her the inspiration to let her administrators know how beneficial blogging can be!
ReplyDeleteYour picks are good - you might want to put live links in here so that people who come across your blog can find their way to the applications.
Good work!
